For a luxury car with a total length of 17 feet. That’s crazy. Sounds like it has the ability to play with the big boys too.

10 pounds for every day of the year. That’s a steal.

That’s unreal. That’s like midsize sedan weight. Aluminum or just black magic?

A mixture of about what seems like 10 different types of metals and stamping processes. In other words, black magic like GM has been managing to do to all their new model’s weights lately.

Dayum, that is not bad at all!!! Less than a Camaro SS right? Waaaay less than a BMW 5 series (4,365lbs)

Seriously, when the fuck did GM get so masterful at building platforms? First the Corvette chassis, then the Alpha Platform, now the fucking Omega platform despite being even bigger than Alpha, is somehow lighter and stiffer.

GM’s A WITCH I TELLS YA! A WITCH!

If this is not the flagship I can’t wait to see what Cadillac has in store for the flagship.

It’s impressive that GM went from having notoriously heavy cars (Camaro) to some of the lightest in the business.

what happen to the 6.2 supercharge / turbo?

Cadillac won’t be using anymore push-rod V8s in their cars going forward. No more shared engines with the ‘Vette or truck lineup. Well, at least as far as the V8 is concerned.

Too bad, but it's for the best since luxury car buyers tend to be snobs about stuff they consider "outdated".

Yup. As far as I know, any and all V8s that Cadillac (at least their sedans, I’m actually not 100% sure about the Escalade) uses going forward with their new vehicles will be DOHC based. Specifically because of that perception.

Would that be an updated Northstar, or a totally new engine?

But it's a Cadillac so it must be a 2002 Seville. Durr no American luxury can be good.

I’m honestly wondering the same thing. Their platforms used to all be hugely overweight and now they’re the lightest in the business!

Rolls and Bentley competitor? Rolls and Bentley competitor.

Probably not but a man can dream of a world where modern Cadillac competes with them.

Makes me sad about all those wasted years just slapping many different badges on the same car. GM should have always been an industry leader so it’s nice to see them turning things around.

In the early 00s the fwd DTS was over 17 feet long and weighed 4045lb, I thought that was crazy light for it’s size.

>it weighs less than my S60 R-Design

Kudos to those GM engineers, that’s fucking impressive.

I will wager though that my Swedish tank of a car would still go through that luxo-barge like the S.S. Stockholm through the Andrea Doria.
